Millions of adults today suffer silently with a condition that is completely treatable. In many cases this condition is treatable with over the counter methods. It is important for people to know that the swine flu (H1N1) vaccines now being given to millions of Americans and people around the world have never been tested for safety. Even in Europe, where flu vaccines are rigorously tested, the European Medicines Agency is allowing pharmaceutical companies to bypass the testing process entirely. Why are they doing this?
Could it be that this flu hysteria is a public relations ploy drummed up by the pharmaceutical companies in order to make billions of dollars in profits vaccinating a scared, unsuspecting public?
Unfortunately, a naïve public is lining up to take the vaccine, in large part due to the propaganda of fear that is being spread by the World Health Organization, mainstream media and medical communities, and governments around the world.
It is important to remember that these mainstream medical communities, and increasingly governments themselves, are almost completely controlled by the international pharmaceutical companies, which have lobbies so rich and powerful that they can even control the United States government. These are the same pharmaceutical companies that are preparing to make billions of dollars in profits by vaccinating people against the swine flu, which many people are [...]

Researchers do not know the exact cause of typical migraine headaches, and it is almost certain that there are multiple causes, some genetic and some environmental. Some theories discussed irritation or injury to the trigeminal nerve; imbalances in important brain chemicals and neurotransmitters such as serotonin; or an imbalance in certain minerals such as magnesium.
We do know that there are a number of different environmental triggers which can cause a migraine headache. These triggers can cause a migraine in people who are genetically prone to migraines, yet not in others.
Fluctuations in estrogen levels appear to cause migraines headaches in some women who have known predisposition to them. Women sometimes report migraine headaches immediately before or during their periods, when there is a large decrease in the amount of estrogen circulating in the blood. Other women have shown an increase in the number of migraine headaches during pregnancy or menopause, which again would point to a hormonal imbalance.
Given this information, women who suffer from migraine headaches should consider supplementing with hormones such as pregnenolone and progesterone, which are estrogen precursors and are known to help women with certain problems related to hormonal [...]
For all you know, the history of heartburn might go back to the time of Adam and Eve. Ever since Adam had to look for his own food after being banished from the Garden of Eden, heartburn was to stay with mankind ever after. Eve was slightly better off, surviving on raw honey and plenty of apples throughout the remaining days of her life and in doing so, saving her delicate esophagus from GERD (Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease) or acid reflux attacks. However, men and women down the ages have not been spared for the faults of their first parents and heartburn has become a common ailment for mankind ever since. Taking cues from Eve however, we have tried using honey and apple cider vinegar to find relief from GERD induced heartburn. [...]
When you have noticed that you are getting large bruises at the slightest contusion, you have every right to be concerned, and when you bring the issue up to your friends, there is a good chance that they are going to be concerned for you as well. When it comes to looking at easy bruising, there are a lot of theories as to why it might be a problem for you, and some of these theories are fairly spot on, while others seem completely out of the blue. One of the conditions that is often associated with easy bruising is the relatively rare Von Willebrand’s disease, and the question of whether you have it might be one that troubles you. What is this disorder and what might it mean to you? [...]
In his book Cancer is not a Disease: It’s a Survival Mechanism, Andreas Moritz argues for the revolutionary (with respect to mainstream Western medicine) idea that our view of disease is outdated and needs to be replaced with a more comprehensive and holistic understanding of health.
While his insights are revolutionary they are not new. A few years ago Bob Barefoot of Coral Calcium fame argued that our understanding of cholesterol and the role it plays in disease is backwards. Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease but a survival mechanism, the body’s desperate attempt to heal itself as a last resort measure by trying to prevent the blood vessels from cracking and rupturing. The true cause of the disease is somewhere else.
Similarly, Moritz argues that cancer is not a disease but the body’s attempt to survive the real dis-ease by producing cells that don’t die. Cancer is a symptom, not the cause or origin of disease. He is a proponent of bridging the mind/body connection and elevating emotional and mental factors to a central role in the consideration of disease factors.
While the book is provocative and helpful in leading us to a greater understanding of disease, [...]
In Paying A Price For Loving Red Meat (New York Times by Jane Brody, April 27, 2009), a new report published in the March 23 issue of The Archives of Internal Medicine examined the results of the National Institutes of Health-AARP Diet and Health Study, Directed by Rashmi Sinha, a nutritional epidemiologist at the National Cancer Institute.
The study finds that “men and women who consumed the most red and processed meat were likely to die sooner, especially from one of our two leading killers, heart disease and cancer, than people who consumed much smaller amounts of these foods . . . the increase in mortality risk tied to the higher levels of meat consumption was described as “modest,” ranging from about 20 percent to nearly 40 percent.”
The problem with this study is that it seems there is no clear distinction made between red, processed and organic meats. Was the red meat that was studied organically grown, free of pesticides and antiobotics? Would this have made a difference in the outcome of the study?
Isn’t there an important distinction to be made between fresh, organically grown* beef free of artificial coloring and chemical preservatives and meats that have been [...]
Great news for you vitamin lovers.
A new study published in the International Journal of Cancer by researchers from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center found that higher levels of the alpha-tocopherol form of Vitamin E resulted in a 53% reduction in lung cancer. Cancer of the lung is the most common and deadliest form, from which more people die than any other type. Only 25% of people diagnosed with lung cancer live for more than a year.
There are two main groups of vitamin E – tocopherols and tocotreinols – both of which contain the 4 varieties alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta. This study examined the tocopherol group. Unlike alpha-tocoferol, the beta-, gamma- and delta-tocopherol forms of vitamin E failed to show significant benefits when considered by themselves.
This is thought to be the first study of its kind to distinguish between the different forms of Vitamin E with respect to lung cancer. This is important as most people don’t realize there are so many different forms of vitamins, including natural vs. synthetic. Many studies of vitamin E, for example, may only use one of the sub-optimal or synthetic forms and then generalize the results to all [...]

As you may know, Vitamin D has been making headlines lately, and for good reason. Scientists are beginning to discover the tremendous health benefits of this long neglected vitamin, and unfortunately, how deficient most people are in it.
If you don’t get much sun, odds are you don’t get enough vitamin D.
African-Americans and others with dark skin, as well as older individuals, have much lower levels of vitamin D due to less creation of the vitamin from exposure to sunlight. A normal African American with dark skin color has a sun protection factor of 15-30. They can stay out 15-30 times longer in the sun, but the downside is that an African American who is dark skinned would need approximately 7-10 times the amount of sun exposure as a light skinned person. If you put a sunscreen on with an SPF of 8, it reduces your ability to make vitamin D in your skin by more than 95%. A sunscreen of 15 reduces vitamin D production by an astounding 98%.
Worldwide, it is estimated that more than 1 billion across all ethnicities and age groups have insufficient amounts of vitamin D in their blood. In [...]
