What is Anti Aging & Longevity?
If you read through books, journals, articles and surf the Internet, you will soon notice that it is very difficult to find a satisfactory definition of aging. It is easy to enumerate the symptoms of aging, which most writers fall back on doing. But what aging is exactly seems to be somewhat elusive.
We are less concerned with what aging is, and more concerned with how we can slow the process. However, here is a brief overview of aging.
We now know that part of the reason we age is because our genes are preprogrammed in such a way that prohibits our cells from regenerating indefinitely. That is, there is a mechanism in our cells which sets a limit on how many times they can divide and regenerate new cells. Due to evolutionary factors, we are literally programmed by our genetic structure to die.
Fortunately, scientists are beginning to understand this process, and it is becoming quite clear that we will be able to eliminate this roadblock to immortality within the next 20 years or so.
Even if our cells were not preprogrammed to die, they would eventually wear out and die. This is because [...]

You may have heard that the vitamin D health supplement is one of the healthiest vitamins in the world, yet one of the most underutilized as most people do not have sufficient amounts in their body. That’s because the vitamin d health supplement is made when the skin comes into direct contact with sunlight, and we have all been taught by the sunscreen manufacturers that any and all sunlight is harmful to you, which is a lie.
“Vitamin D suppresses tumor growth and promotes differentiation in colorectal cancer in much the same ways it does in breast and prostate cancer. Normal colon cells have higher vitamin D receptor concentrations than abnormal or cancerous colon cells.”
- James Dowd and Diane Stafford, The Vitamin D Cure
It is vitally important for your health to get adequate levels of direct sunlight on your skin, an average of about 15 – 30 minutes a day without sunscreen. If you don’t you’ll have natually low levels of vitamin d in your body and your chances of getting cancer will skyrocket.
“The combination of vitamin D and vitamin A slows prostate cancer cell growth in the lab. Clinical [...]
It is a well known fact nowadays that your build muscle diet is a critically important component of your total fitness regime that will determine the degree of your bodybuilding success. If your diet is substandard and lacking in key nutrients and food types, regardless of how hard you train you won’t gain the muscle mass and definition you desire.
Let’s review a few simple but essential rules to follow to design and implement a superb build muscle diet, and then we’ll uncover some of the very best quality and targeted foods for building muscle mass. Here are some quick guidelines for a diet to build muscle:
1. Consume 6-7 quality, well-planned meals per day to sustain a high metabolism and avoid glycemic spikes. This will make it much easier for you to metabolize the required amount of calories in order for you to gain muscle mass. Also, it will ensure your body has high energy levels throughout the entire day to fight fatigue, maintain an elevated mood and assist recovery and muscle repair.
2. Your build muscle diet should consist of roughly 50% carbohydrates, 30% proteins, and 20% fats. This [...]

Researchers of one study found that “CoQ10 is an anti-aging substance under normal physiological conditions.” This was under testing in mice using doses that would be the human equivalent of 500 mg to 1700 mg per day. Although their research suggested that 1700 mg per day may induce cognitive impairment, these researchers admitted that, “it would be fair to comment that the upper safe limit of 1200 mg per day recommended by the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) is lower than the estimated 1700 mg per day that would lead to cognitive impairment in humans.” In other words, use in moderation like everything else.
Ubiquinone, another name for coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) comes from the word “ubiquitous,” meaning “everywhere” – a fitting name since it is found in and essential to every cell of the human body. Unfortunately, levels of CoQ10 produced by the body decrease with age by as much as 70%, and with the development of certain diseases such as Parkinson’s , asthma, and heart disease. Scientists have been studying CoQ10 for many years, and it is now one of the most popular health supplements in the world due to the discovery of it’s [...]
For over thirty years, doctors have been extolling the benefits of super fruits, especially red grapes and blueberries because of the high levels of antioxidants found in them. Acai berries have over 30 times more antioxidants than blueberries or red grapes! One would have to agree that the acai fruit is the single-most antioxidant-rich food on earth.

Alpha-lipoic acid is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants manufactured by the human body. It has been called the “universal” antioxidant because it boosts glutathione levels in cells, and is both water and fat soluable. Alpha-lipoic acid is found in every cell of the body, a cofactor in several multi-enzyme complexes where it helps turn glucose into energy.
Alpha-lipoic acid is an essential co-factor in energy metabolism in organisms from microbes to humans. A nutritional coenzyme that participates in the energy metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, with a particular role in blood glucose disposal, alpha-lipoic acid is necessary for the mitochondrial energy production of the cell, which keeps us alive; it can also help reduce the aging process which reduces wrinkles in the skin and inhibits the disease process.
The therapeutic potential of alpha-lipoic acid is just beginning to be explored, but holds great promise. Alpha-lipoic acid can be found in foods such as organ meats, spinach, broccoli, peas, brussel sprouts, and rice bran. The richest natural food source of alpha-lipoic acid is red meat; other sources include, spinach, broccoli, potatoes, yeast (particularly brewer’s yeast), and certain organ meats (such as kidney and heart).

Health is a concept that is not easily defined. The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of desease or infirmity.”
They are saying that health is a lot more than just the absence of disease. It is much more than that. But good health usually comes down to personal responsibility: choosing to live a healthy lifestyle or an unhealthy one. It is our choice.
It doesn’t help that the media and food industry are loaded with messages encouraging poor health. Most of the food manufactured and produced in the US, for example, is junk filled with disease causing chemicals and stripped of almost all nutrition. And we wonder why there is a cancer epidemic in the US?
There are 4 main steps to a healthy lifestyle.
A healthy, optimistic attitude filled with gratitude, forgiveness, love and nourishing, supportive relationships.
A healthy diet, of mostly raw fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains and legumes.
Adequate supplementation to add what we cannot get from our normal diets. This includes fruit extracts such as resveratrol and hormones such as melatonin and dhea.
Exercise and movement. It doesn’t have to be going to the gym and [...]
Melatonin is another of the super hormones, those miracle substances that slow your aging and help you to live more youthful, energetic, disease-free, spiritually inspired and active lives – whatever your age.
But melatonin’s story gets better. Because of all the super anti-aging products flooding onto the market do the explosion of the information age, it can all be very confusing. “What do I take?” “Which supplements are the best?” Good questions.
Anti-aging and Longevity
In fact, Melatonin is one of the only substances ever discovered that significantly extends the lifespan of laboratory animals. Let’s be very clear about this. There are many supplements that can make you look and feel younger – give you more youthful energy – but only a few have been shown to extend actual lifespan by a significant amount.
Melatonin is one of those super hormones that can actually help you to live longer.
In scientific tests, the average lifespan of animals extended about 30%. I have read figures of between 20% and 50%, so 30% is a relatively safe average. That means instead of dying at 70, you greatly increase the probability that you will live until you are 100 if you supplement with melatonin.
It gets better.Melatonin [...]
Pregnenolone is called the “mother hormone” or “the brain hormone” because it is converted from cholesterol by the body in the mitochondria of the cell and is the primary hormone of the Adrenal gland. That means that all other adrenal hormones – from dhea to testosterone to estrogen, mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids – are produced from Pregnenolone.
Now we have all heard how terrible cholesterol is for health, right? Anything with cholesterol is bad and must be avoided? But if the most important adrenal hormone in your entire body – and the most potent memory enhancer known to science – is produced from cholesterol, how could cholesterol be so bad for you?
The answer is that cholesterol in itself is not bad, but the sources you get it from in your food or supplements are very important. There are good and bad sources of cholesterol. For example, natural butter is much healthier than synthetic margarine. And don’t eat foods cooked with unhealthy trans-fats, like companies such as McDonalds and KFC, etc. did for years even after the scientific evidence was overwhelming that they should stop because it was causing heart and other diseases.
Pregnenolone has been shown to have very few side-effects, and is [...]

Alternative Health & Pfizer Bites It
From the “Americans aren’t so stupid after all and may be starting to wake up”

department.
Healthnews.com reports “American consumers spent an estimated $34 billion on alternative medicine in 2007. In fact, alternative medicine accounts for over 11 percent of out-of-pocket spending on health care in the United States. “
Alternative medicine is anything not controlled by the pharmaceutical mafia which protects hundreds of billions of dollars in profits every year by manipulating and exploiting groups such as senior citizens into becoming drug addicts courtesy of your local doctor and the mainstream medical establishment, which includes the FDA, your friendly local government strong-arm men.
Think yoga, biofeedback, diets, nutritional and fitness coaching, chiropracters, naturopathy, hypnosis, vitamin supplements, herbs, natural and organic foods, a brain that actually functions part of the time, meditation, tai chi, gardening, long walks and prayer to the holy godfather in the sky. You create your reality with your thoughts, so think positively.
It’s great to see Americans finally waking up to the incredible health benefits of alternative health therapies, particularly the anti-aging supplements that can extend lifespan. Over 1/3 of all Americans are now using some form of alternative medicine, so clearly they are beginning to see [...]
