There are times in your low carb cooking when you can use only one of the low carb vegetables to give you a fantastic dish that looks mouth-watering. This type of low carb recipe will call for only a low carb vegetable like an eggplant. This vegetable is very versatile and you can use it in many ways. But almost any vegetable will do.

After all, low carbohydrate just means eating fruits and vegetables (and small amounts or organic lean meat), and training your taste buds to enjoy low carb meals without the sugar and fat.

The Atkins Diet is one of the more popular low carbohydrate diets, and although it has undergone much scrutiny and criticism, the preponderance of the scientific evidence seems to show that – when used sensibly and in moderation – it is a perfectly healthy and effective diet.

Remember, eating is one of life’s great pleasures. Don’t deprive yourself of the sensual, gastronomical, spiritually uplifting joys. Especially, after you have been well-disciplined in your diet regime, give yourself a reward for sticking to your low carbohydrate diet and allow yourself to enjoy as much of any darn food you want. If you get the balance right you will lose, not gain, weight. Don’t starve yourself everyday. Cycle your caloric restrictions to a few days a week to keep your body guessing.

      I believe Americans have gone into decline because they have become selfish, losing touch with their fundamental values of family, generosity and love. Self-sufficiency is an effect of those things, not a prerequisite like our confused society has determined.

      Americans have become arrogant and out of touch. My own father refuses to speak with me and hasn't for over 10 years. It seems he doesn't feel it is his responsibility. Compare that to Asian culture where all families help everyone else to the extent needed. If children need to live at home until age 39 then no questions asked. If families need to care for elderly parents or grandparents they do.

      <span>Is it any wonder that the tight family bonds in Asia have strengthened those societies while America has become spiritually and financially bankrupt? Americans are greedy, self-centered, condescending and lost. No love, no power.

Healthy proteins with a reduction in fatty red meat, a reduction of low quality high-glycemic carbs and sugar and instead eating whole grain carbs high in fiber can make a huge difference in your lipid profile. Supplement with fish oil also.
